Malicious Software Removal Tool
Found something really interesting on the Microsoft web site. They are offering a free scanning tool to check your computer for malicious software. Users who has authentic copies of Microsoft XP, 2000 and 2003 can run the tool for free here.
Something that struck me as funny was after installing the product, my Microsoft Anti Spyware tool popped up a notice that “Malicious Software Removal Tool” was making some changes to my computer and asked me to file a report with Spynet. Now, you would think that they might now about this program since it did come from Microsoft? Oh well, one of the problems with large companies; no one communicates with each other.
