EliteBar

EliteBar which also known as the "Elite Toolbar" has been known to send email addresses of the surfer to third parties. Most recently it was reported that their autofill feature can be used to capture credit card numbers and address. The EliteBar is able to register itself automatically in Internet Explorer as a Browser Helper Object and can hijack your internet web searches, change your home page and other internet explorer settings.

If you feel comfortable with modifying your computer's registry, you can follow the below instructions for removing EliteBar from your computer. We only recommend this for experienced users:

To remove EliteBar,

goto your windows DOS prompt and enter the below commands:

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u elitesidebar 08.dll
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u elitetoolbar version 59.dll

click on "start" - "run" and type in regedit and then hit enter. You will need to delete the following registry keys:

Locate and delete the following files:

elitesidebar 08.dll
elitetoolbar version 59.dll
suicidetb.exe

Go into your windows task manager and highlight the below program name and click on "end process"

suicidetb.exe

Delete the EliteBar folder in your "program files" directory
