Remove Huntbar

Huntbar is an application that gets installed on your internet explorer toolbar. This product will track your internet surfing activity and send this information back to their servers. While they claim to not have any personnal information, this will slow down your internet connection. We recommend if you do not feel comfortable manually removing this program, that you try a free spyware scan from Webroot Spy Sweeper to remove adware and spyware from your computer. Most people often have just more than 1 type of spyware / adware on their computer.

To remove Huntbar manually, follow the below instructions:

  1. Look for the following files and run "regsvr32 huntbar filename /u" example: regsvr32 huntbar.dll /u. These files are normally found in your windows/system directory
    • msiets.dll
    • msielink.dll
    • btlink.dll
    • msiein.dll
    • btiein.dll
    • SToolbar.dll
  2. Reboot your computer.
  3. Using regedit, look for the following key(s) and delete them:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MSIETS
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MSIEIN
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\BTIEIN
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\BTLINK
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Search Toolbar
